Hello, my name is….

Hi, my name is Shannon and I’m a concert-aholic.  Admitting it is the first step, right?  Well, except that I have no desire to cure my addiction – so I’ll just call it my hobby.  Let’s just say that I LOVE music, I LOVE live music and therefore I LOVE concerts.  I am a fan of all kinds of music, from Josh Groban (we’ll get to him later) to country to classic rock to current pop/rock.  I am a Zumba© Instructor so you will also find Latin and other international music on my iPod.  I listen to it all.  Not rap so much, but if it gets played, chances are I’ll get up and dance to it.  I can’t hold a tune in a bucket and don’t play any instrument but music gets me through everything.

So to feed my addiction, er I mean hobby, I have developed another “hobby” – winning concert tickets on the radio.  It has become like a job for me.  I make it a point to know when and what contests are going on at all times so I can do my best to get tickets.  My favorite ones are the meet and greets.  Over the last year I have met several of my favorite entertainers and bands along with many up-and-coming artists thanks to the radio stations and other contests.  My best friend, Renee, got me hooked on contests and she and I work together to win stuff all the time.  We even text each other when to call in to radio stations for contests if the other one can’t listen.  And it works!  We have won several things that way.

I go to all kinds of concerts but my favorite are country concerts.  I listen to all the radio stations here in town depending on the mood I'm in.  My alarm clock is a radio.  There are a lot of great morning shows here in Tulsa so I take turns listening to them.  Plus there are always prizes to be won from the morning shows!

In this blog I will talk about the concerts I attend and the stories that go along with them.  I'll tell you about my experiences getting tickets, meeting the bands and how the actual concerts were.  Most of the time I leave having had a great time and end up loving the band/artist even more.  There are a few that I have left a little disappointed.  I have attended 43 concerts over the last 14 months so I will do my best in future posts to recount some of those along with the ones I will be attending in 2015 and beyond.  I have high hopes it will be a great concert year!
